Florette site used to showcase UK food safety

Bagged salad specialist Florette has hosted a visit by government officials from Kenya to demonstrate the site’s food safety processes and working relationship with its local authority Lichfield District Council.

The aim of the tour is to help Kenya reform the way it regulates businesses.

On the day, the group, which included officials from the city councils of Nairobi and Mombassa and two members of the International Finance Corporation, were given a tour of Florette’s factory to see how high food hygiene standards were maintained.

Sandy Sewell, commercial director at Florette, said: “It has been a pleasure to welcome officials from Kenya to Florette to showcase our food, health and safety procedures and to represent the UK’s fresh food industry and demonstrate the strength of the sector. I hope the tour of Florette has proven useful and look forward to hearing how it impacts operations in Kenya.”
