Florette shrinks its salads

UK salad producer Florette has unveiled a new smaller portion salad pack as part of its latest collection for 2004.

Designed for one as a main meal, two as an accompaniment or for those who prefer to purchase smaller amounts of salad day by day, Florette's new smaller portion range is its response to the need for a fresh salad meal solution.

A choice of recipes are available in the range, which include Florette's Mixed Salad, a classic mix of escarole, radicchio and friseé in a 110g bag; the Medley Salad with a new mix of escarole, lollo rosso, carrot and red cabbage in a 120g bag and the Tender Green Salad, a new mix of green leaves lambs lettuce, green batavia and escarole in a 90g bag.

Marketing manager Claire Jenkins said: "Our new-size salad packs have been developed in answer to new shopping habits and a growing demand for smaller portion foods, especially given the increase in one or two person households. Florette's smaller portion bags not only offer the benefit of convenience and Florette's commitment to freshness, but also demonstrate our dedication to meeting consumer's demand for fast, delicious salad ideas.

The new-size salads are already proving a hit with Florette's growing customer base at a rrp of 89p per bag.
