Florette begins festive push

Florette is to bring its salad and fruit expertise together to create a bumper festive offer in the run up to Christmas.

The salad specialist, which recently moved into the fruit sector, is to release three new Christmas products - Christmas Salad, Fruit Dipper and Veg Dipper - to consumers during December as it looks to enhance sales in the produce aisle this Christmas.

The Christmas Salad, which blends the popular premium mix of baby leaves with ‘Christmassy’ flavours including a spiced orange dressing, cherries and cranberries will be available in a 150g pack until December 24.

The Fruit Dipper comes hot off the back of Florette’s latest venture into pre-packed fresh fruit and the mix of pineapples, grapes, melons and raspberry coulis sold in 380g tubs.

The Veg Dipper is 350g tub of fresh, hand-cut carrot batons, broccoli and cauliflower.

Both dip lines will be available throughout December to drive sales through the full Christmas and New Year entertaining period.

Elaine Smith, Florette marketing manager, said: “Consumers spend an average of 33 per cent more over the festive period, driven by the desire for something a little bit special, whether that be a treat for the family, to impress guests or as a time-saving solution. “Festive limited editions and creative pack sizes and flavours are a tried and tested revenue-driving mechanic in many other categories but, historically, there has been limited innovation in produce so we’re confident that our new lines will really deliver impact to the fresh produce aisle. And that our brand is synonymous with superior freshness, quality and taste means that consumers can be reassured that their festive entertaining purchases won’t let them down.

“We’ve already had some extremely positive feedback from retailers who have been impressed by our innovative approach and - significantly in the current climate - our ability to leverage the Florette brand to encourage loyal customers to trade up, as well as attract new consumers into the category this Christmas.”
