Farmers’ market in the city

The first of a monthly city and country farmers’ market came to Vauxhall, south-west London, last week. Offering a wide range of fresh, seasonal and organic produce, the award-winning farmers’ market is set to visit St George's Wharf, near New Covent Garden Market, every month. The city and country farmers’ market is a collaboration of three markets from Dulwich College, West Norwood and Manor Park.

The market was in full swing last Thursday, with more than 10 stalls selling fresh produce as well as a selection of sandwiches and salads. Amongst the fresh produce, customers could find English cherries grown in Kent for £1.50 a 227g punnet and frisé lettuce for 50p a head.
