Fruit Logistica bosses are tipping the new EU member states to make an even greater impact at next year’s show.
This year’s event, in Berlin, saw the biggest presence yet from eastern and central Europe, with six of the eight new member countries exhibiting.
Other countries present at the show included Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Albania.
Around 13.6 per cent of all trade visitors coming to the show were also from central and eastern Europe, organisers Messe Berlin claimed.
The 14th Fruit Logistica is scheduled to take place in Berlin on February 2 to 4, and the organisers are expecting the trends towards new countries to continue.
