Elsoms Seeds has appointed David Coop to the newly created role of head of business development.
Coop joins the plant breeder and vegetable seed supplier from Westland Horticulture - which produces gardening products, including lawn seed, plant food and fungicides - where he was head of technical development.
He has considerable experience in horticulture and agriculture, having also been a director of the Crop Protection Association, chairman of the British Ornamental Plant Producers group and an employee at Bayer CropScience in various strategic marketing and technical roles.
As a 'key member of Westland Horticulture’s management team for eight years', Coop “delivered many significant and highly successful new products during his time there,” Elsoms said in a press release.
The plant breeder added: “David’s appointment underlines Elsoms’ determination to expand a highly successful business by driving innovation for its customers.”
