Prepared fruit and vegetables supplier Bakkavor has promoted Mike Edwards to chief operating officer in the UK.
He will have overall management responsibility for the UK operations and will report to group chief executive officer Agust Gudmundsson.
Edwards, formerly managing director of consultancy firm Meal Solutions, joined Bakkavor in 2001 and was appointed to the board in 2011.
Bakkavor also announced that managing director of Convenience Foods, Steve Broadbent, is leaving the company.
Gudmundsson said: “Mike’s appointment as COO of the UK reflects our commitment to the strategic development of our UK business operations and our focus on the evolving needs of our customers.
“I would like to thank Steve Broadbent for his significant contribution to the Group and wish him well for the future.”
