Dutch sendings to UK up 14 per cent

Dutch fresh produce exporters increased their sendings by five per cent year on year during the first half of 2008.

The country’s horticultural board Productschap Tuinbouw announced that shipments amounted to 1.11 million tonnes in the first six months of this year, as opposed to 1.05mt in the same period of 2007.

Exports to the UK led the way, rising by 14 per cent to 168,000t.
