Dole Fresh Fruit Co was forced to recall thousands of cartons of imported cantaloupes in North America on Friday, after the fruit tested positive for salmonella.
The recall covered the eastern United States and the Canadian province of Quebec. Dole has already said that there have been no reports of illness due to the contaminated cantaloupes, which were grown in Costa Rica.
Around 6,100 cartons of cantaloupes that were distributed to wholesalers from February 5-8 were involved.
