DG Fruit has helped raise a sizeable sum for children’s cancer charity Toma.
The fruit importer offered £10,000 cash for a hole-in-one at an event that brought together 72 golfers playing in teams of four.
Held at Bridle Path Golf Club in Newcastle on 7 June and organised jointly by DG Fruit and Walbottle High School, no one managed the hole in one, but £2,500 was still raised for the charity, which helps youngsters and their families in Cumbria and north-east England.
