Covent Garden threatens Dorset grocer

Covent Garden Market Authority has threatened legal action against a family-run Dorset greengrocer trading under the name Covent Garden Fruit Market.

Owners of the Southbourne business, Mark and Lisa Pierson, were reportedly shocked to be accused of fraud and deception.

The couple branded the action as ridiculous but, CGMA’s communication officer Helen Evans told FPJ, the market’s lawyers claimed otherwise.

She said: “They may have been using the name for 40 years but the problem is they have a website people can access from anywhere. They’re not buying from us but they are getting the benefit of our reputation for top-quality fruit.”
