Conifer countdown begins

The Association of British Conifer Growers (ABCG) has unveiled its latest promotional tool in its bid to promote National Conifer Week - a leaflet designed to inspire retailers to use eye-catching displays to enthuse customers and boost autumn sales figures.

The leaflet encourages garden centres and retailers to create ‘shopper-stopping’ displays with ‘colourful conifers in co-ordinated containers, edging and hedging and feature planting’ to boost the sales of the plants and their associated containers, compost and feeds.

The promotion has been organised by the ABCG, and funded by the Horticultural Development Council and HTA, and has been sent out to over 2,000 retailers to coincide with the third annual National Conifer Week.

Tim Briercliffe, the HTA’s business development director, said: “We hope that retailers will take the opportunity during National Conifer Week to employ some of the techniques outlined to enthuse their customers on the versatility of these plants.”
