Rosario Rago, president of the Rago Group, has been elected as the president of the Salerno food industry association Confagricoltura.
Rago was elected to the Italian organisation primarily due to a wealth of experience, which includes a family business dating back to 1892. Rago is also believed to be largest grower of organic baby leaf in Italy.
He said: “We have increased our capacity to grow greater volumes and new types of organic salads, herbs and other crops. The Rago family has been growing organic products for decades and has been certified ICEA since it’s beginning. Rago is a forward-thinking, 6th-generation family of growers with a passion for farming, specialising in a wide range of baby leaf products such as rucola, spinach, red and green batavia, lamb's lettuce, red chard, etc. all grown in tunnels."
The company is certified to GlobalGAP, IFS, BRC, TNC, ICEA (organic), ISO 2001 and Conad PQC accreditations.
Rago added: “We are dedicated to bringing the best, freshest product to your doorstep. I truly believe that we will be a great link in your supply chain for both your summer and winter programmes.”
