The Co-op has scored another Fairtrade first, with the introduction of a new range of Fairtrade smoothies.
The new drinks will be available in two flavours - mango and orange, and pink guava - with the fruit sourced from Ecuador, Cuba, South Africa and Brazil. The products will be the first Fairtrade chilled smoothie drinks available from a supermarket retailer in the UK.
Priced at £1.99 a litre, the smoothies will be on sale in selected Co-op stores from January 28.
The Co-operative currently stocks over 150 Fairtrade products, which is the largest range of any retailer. Even the smallest Co-operative store carries a range of Fairtrade products.
