The largest cargo airport in the world could open in China in 2017.
Plans are already underway to develop the £3.1 billion airport near Beijing, according to Asiafruit. State-owned China Radio International reported the facility will have nine runways and handle 5.5 million tonnes of cargo a year.
The as-yet-unnamed airport will be built in North China’s Hebei province between Beijing and Langfeng and will cover around 2,700ha.
