Chilean citrus link up

The Chilean Fresh Fruit Association has signed a co-operation agreement with the national citrus growers association (ACC) - to work together "to improve marketing conditions for Chilean oranges on domestic and overseas markets."

A statement issued by the CFFA said: "The orange production and export sectors have faced important change in the last five years and have demonstrated tremendous dynamism in renewal of orchards replanted with those varieties in most demand internationally. This together with high growth rates in exports over the past three years running at 80 per cent a year on average, point to very good forecasts for the future growth of this sector."

Both organisations hope that by joining forces on some projects they will be able to support members more effectively. ACC also hopes to make use of ProChile for promotion of its products on overseas markets.
