Redbridge Caterfresh, the foodservice arm of Redbridge Holdings, the UK's leading supplier of fresh produce to the retail, wholesale and foodservice sectors, has won the contract to supply Browns Restaurants, the nationwide brasserie style restaurant chain.

Browns is owned by Mitchells & Butlers plc (M&B), one of the UK's leading operators of managed pubs and pub restaurants.

The contract, which will run concurrently with the main agreement awarded to Caterfresh by M&B until 2007, will see Caterfresh supplying fruit and vegetables to all 15 Browns city centre brasseries and working closely with the development team on the restaurant chain's fresh produce offering.

Stephen Betts, purchasing manager at M&B, said: "We demand consistent product quality and freshness so that we can provide only the best meals to our customers. We are confident Redbridge can meet our exacting standards and the fact that Caterfresh has been awarded Supplier of Year status on more than one occasion by M&B is a testament to the quality of product and service that they provide."

David Burns, commercial director at Redbridge Caterfresh, said of the win: "Our contract with M and B was renewed earlier this year after we demonstrated once again that we offer overall best value. We are delighted that Browns has chosen to work with us and are looking forward to working with their development team on the chain's fresh produce offering."
