The new muesli bar, which was unveiled as a 'luxury snack' has listings in Tesco and will be in Sainsbury's from the beginning of October, with expansion planned across the retail network later in the year.

The launch of the new bars is being supported in Tesco by a combined coupon promotion with fresh citrus in store.

To mark the occasion, a sampling event was held at London Luton airport which, as the home of Easy Jet, provided an ideal 'orange' link. The Outspan team handed out over 9,000 samples to departure and arrival passengers, accompanied by Olivia Orange.

Alistair Phillipson, marketing manager of Capespan UK, said: 'This is one of a number of key brand extension products that will benefit from the co-ordinated marketing campaign we have put in place. Both Cape and Outspan are household names in fresh fruit and we will promote the brands and their core value of taste and quality through other products including cereals and juices.'
