John Sunderland, chairman of Cadbury Schweppes, has said that he is not worried about being sued by consumers who claim that its products contribute to obesity.

JP Morgan, the investment bank, claims that the UK-based company ranks second only to Hershey in its exposure to obesity-related lawsuits.

The company has already faced difficulties this year, over its Get Active campaign offering sports equipment to schools in exchange for chocolate wrappers. The campaign has drawn widespread criticism from dietary associations and other concerned parties.

Sunderland has claimed that the only critics were narrow pressure groups and that nine out of 10 of the letters and calls received on the issue supporting the initiative.
