The Bulb Company has become part of the Maurice Crouch Group.

Maurice Crouch Growers has 900 acres of daffodils in production, as well as over 3,000 acres of salad and brassica crops from its Merrymac Salads Business.

The acquisition will add 100 million daffodils and over 1,000 tonnes of bulbs per year to the company.

Paul Ashton, who launched the Bulb Company in 1997, said: “By joining forces we are able to secure and develop the marketing potential for our loyal growers and improve our customer service.”

“With Merrymac Salads we already have the infrastructure to pack and distribute daffodil flowers and bulbs,” said Michael Fairey, MCG’s managing director.

“It makes total sense for us and The Bulb Company to bring production and trading together. It’s a consolidation process which will benefit everyone in the supply chain from grower to customer.” l
