The British Potato Council (BPC) will explore opportunities in the potato seed industry at a special event in Scotland next month.
The British Potato Council Seed Industry Event takes place on November 2-3 at Crieff Hydro, Crieff, near Perth.
BPC seed and export manager Iain Dyke said: “These are exciting times for anyone involved in the breeding, growing, handling, exporting or retailing of GB seed potatoes. “This promises to be a really valuable event, indeed many past delegates and companies have already committed to attend.”
The two-day event starts with a keynote conference where experts will set out the opportunities and threats for the seed industry, while a debate highlighting merchants’ and growers’ views will give delegates a chance to have their say.
Workshops on the second day of the event will focus on a range of topics including supplying what the customer needs, staying competitive, keeping quarantine diseases out, and making the most of the latest technology.
And the traditional industry dinner on November 2 offers those attending the chance to make and renew important contacts, BPC said.
