To celebrate the wholesalers’ return to the Jubilee Market and the ever-increasing wholesale activity at Borough, a tour of the market and tasting is being held on February 21.
Borough Market’s Trustees will host the event with traders to mark the completion of the refurbished Jubilee Market, the elegant wrought iron canopy of which marks the wholesaler trading area at Borough. “Right on time and well within budget,” said Simone Crofton, Trustees’ chief executive, “We’re all delighted, and none more than the original fruit and vegetable wholesale traders who will begin to trade from their refurbished stands after Easter.”
The tour and tasting will be followed by a reception, which will be attended by leading figures in the food industry, hotel and restaurant proprietors, the press and “a liberal sprinkling of chefs and aficionados, both famous and infamous”, said a statement.
