Cold storage specialist says the temperature-control technology will help suppliers reduce energy consumption and optimise operational efficiency

Cold storage and blast freezer rental provider Blue Cube has invested in seven new all-electric temperature-control systems.

Three of the Carrier Transicold HE19 systems have been fitted to new portable cold stores, while the remaining four have replaced current systems mounted to existing Blue Cube cold storage units.

All seven units store a wide variety of palletised products, with typical loads including fresh produce, other food and drink products, and highly temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals.

Managing director of Blue Cube, Alan Hunt said: “This investment highlights our commitment to delivering unparalleled reliability and energy efficiency with our portable cold storage solutions.

“These latest-generation Carrier units were selected because they enhance the quality of our services and provide significant benefits to our customers by ensuring their temperature-sensitive goods are treated with the utmost precision and care.”

Sustainability is enhanced further through reduced refrigerant charge and a fully hermetic economised scroll compressor, which helps to significantly reduce the chances and environmental impacts of fluorinated gas escapes.

“We put the Vector HE19 through a detailed competitive trial programme before making this choice and were hugely impressed with its speed of temperature pulldown, reduced energy consumption and low noise levels,” Hunt said.
