Fresh produce storage technology specialist biofresh has announced a new appointment to strengthen its sales team, in response to growing demand for the company’s Ozone technology.

Jonathan Hall has joined the organisation as southern sales executive, to service a rapidly expanding customer base of wholesalers and retailers. His role will involve the introduction of Ozone technology to new clients, while acting as a key contact for existing customers.

Having previously worked in the top-fruit industry and for household names such as Bernard Matthews, Ross Young’s and McCain Foods, Hall has wide knowledge of the industry and extensive sales and customer service experience.

biofresh managing director Richard Barnes said: “We are delighted to welcome Jonathan to the team. We are confident that his experience working with major retailers and wholesalers will extend our customer service and grow our customer base further still. The potential for Ozone is huge, with the system able to provide benefits for many stages of the fresh produce supply chain - from growers and packers to wholesalers and retailers.”

biofresh Ozone management systems generate and control Ozone at levels which sanitise the storage environment, prevent microbial spoilage and maintain fresh produce quality more effectively than traditional chemical-based products. They leave no harmful residues and research shows that consumers actually prefer the taste of Ozone-treated fruit.

Hall said: “biofresh is a major innovator in the fresh produce marketplace. It’s an exciting opportunity for me to join at this stage in the company’s development. Not only do we offer state-of-the-art technology, but we have innovative finance schemes to help our customers enjoy the benefits of our technology now and in the future. I am really looking forward to growing my role with the company.”
