Asian event attracts wide interest

Asia Fruit Logistica, the continent's first specialist fresh produce conference and exhibition has garnered “wider than expected” interest from exhibitors around the world.

The event takes place from September 5-7, 2007, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand and to date, 19 countries are going to be represented.

“Exhibitors from companies in Asia, including China, Thailand, Korea and Japan as well as from some of the leading supplying countries in the world such as the US, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, France, Italy and the Netherlands have all signed up to exhibit," said Gérald Lamusse, managing director of GPE Global Produce Events GmbH, the organiser of Asia Fruit Logistica. Dole Asia and The Greenery are amongst the early sign-ups, he added.

Running alongside the exhibition, Asiafruit Congress is expected to attract an audience of 500 or more. The conference takes place over all three days. Day one looks at the Asian consumer, day wwo at the Asian food retailer and day three at the Asian fresh produce trade.
