Thailand’s agriculture minister will formally open Asia's only fresh fruit and vegetable trade fair and conference event when it launches in Bangkok on September 5.

“I am delighted to welcome Asia Fruit Logistica and the Asiafruit Congress to Bangkok,” said Professor Dr Thira Sutabutra, Thailand's minister of agriculture and co-operatives. “It’s no surprise to us that Asia’s only annual fresh

fruit and vegetable trade convention should choose the capital city of Thailand as the venue for its launch event. Our country is a leading Asian fresh fruit and vegetable producer and exporter. It is also a dynamic and exciting market, which is now home to some of the world's leading food retailers.”

Asia Fruit Logistica and Asiafruit Congress take place from September 5-7, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. The three-day trade fair has already sold out of exhibition space and has attracted more than 100 exhibitors from Asia and the rest of the world.

The three-day convention event has been endorsed by Thailand's ministry of agriculture and co-operatives, as well as the ministry of commerce's department of export promotion, and is supported by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau.

More than 2,000 trade visitors from fresh produce businesses are expected to attend Asia Fruit Logistica.
