Morrisons has trotted out from the pavilion in its return to celebrity-based advertising, with new ads to be fronted by cricketer Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff.

The popular Ashes-winning all rounder will appear in a series of adverts for the supermarket starting next week.

Created by DLKW Lowe and directed by Jonny Campbell of Mustard films, the campaign unites Flintoff with a group of inquisitive schoolchildren.

The advert sees Freddie and the kids’ attempts to raise the mood of the nation, acknowledging that although times have been tough for the British public, April, with two successive 4-day bank holidays, the improving weather and a royal wedding will provide some fantastic opportunities for celebration and enjoyment.

Galvanising the people they encounter along the way, Freddie and the kids lead a crowd of enthusiastic followers to Morrisons in search of great food.
