Asda COO departs

Asda’s chief operating officer Simon King is understood to have left the retailer after just six months in the job.

With no official comment from the Wal-Mart subsidiary, reports have indicated that the appointment “did not work out” and CEO Andy Clarke will now be looking for a replacement as his second in command.

King had been appointed from Saudi Arabia’s Panda Retail and also had international experience with Tesco in Turkey and South Korea.
