Asda has appointed former Tesco man Simon King as its chief operating officer from January 2011.
King was ceo of Tesco Kipa in Turkey before going to head up Saudi Arabia’s Panda Retail chain last year. Prior to his role in Turkey, King ran several of Tesco’s international operations.
In his new Asda job, he will largely take up the brief vacated by Andy Clarke in May.
