Fresh produce multinational Total Produce has unveiled a new promotional video designed to raise awareness of its recently launched consumer marketing website Topfruit.com.
The group recently invited online PR and social media firm Simply Zesty to create a unique piece of web-based content in order to promote the online resource centre, which offers shoppers a range of additional information about the fruit and vegetables they buy.
By scanning special QR codes on the Total Produce Smartpacks, which are being rolled out across a full range of TOP-branded fresh produce, consumers can access specific information about the product, including videos called Fruit Bytes which address frequently raised questions regarding product preparation, usage, taste and recipe ideas.
According to Simply Zesty co-founder Lauren Fisher, the brief from Total Produce was very simple: take a load of fruit and vegetables and come up with some social media-friendly content which could potentially spread the message about Topfruit.com and Smartpacks far and wide.
'We went to town with this creation,' said Fisher. 'This really was something that we couldn't wait to get our teeth into (excuse the pun).'
Total Produce provided a load of fruit and vegetables and asked Simply Zesty to let their imaginations run wild.
'Looking at what was getting people talking online at the moment, we couldn't ignore the hype around the planned launch of the iPhone 5,' Fisher explained.
'People were bored of waiting, so we decided to give them a giant version of what we thought it might look like!'
Fisher was also keen to point out that all of the fresh produce used in the making of the video was sent for composting, while any unused items were donated.
