Brittany, France-based marketer Prince de Bretagne has announced that its new environmentally friendly packaging, available for a range of organic vegetables since the spring, has been a 'great success'.
The new 1kg punnet, for courgettes, tomatoes, carrots and Petit Violet artichokes, is made from 100 per cent cardboard, according to the company, making it completely recyclable.
It also allows for the vegetables to be packed on the farm, reducing the amount of handling necessary and therefore boosting shelf life and adding value for producers.
The packaging comes in one single line of punnets, enabling Prince de Bretagne to maintain the consistency of its range, optimise stocks and limit costs.
