The achievement marks the second time Lineage has made the list, following its recognition in 2020.

Now in its tenth year, Fortune’s annual ’Change the World’ list recognises companies that are making positive social impacts in line with their core business strategies.

Nominees are assessed on factors including measurable social impact, business results and degree of innovation.

Lineage said that it worked strategically to integrate sustainability initiatives across its business to help address some of society’s biggest problems today.

This ranged from tackling food insecurity to improving energy efficiency with cutting-edge technology, it noted.

“Lineage’s purpose is to transform the world’s food supply chain and help feed the world, guided by our deep conviction that innovation is the way to do just that,” said Greg Lehmkuhl, president and CEO of Lineage.

“We are thrilled to be named to Fortune’s ‘Change the World’ list as we continue harnessing innovation to enable what we believe is one of the world’s cleanest, most efficient cold chains in our march towards eliminating waste on a global level.”
