FFE, the French Peeling Federation, is teaming up with Interfel on 5-14 June for this year’s Fraîch' Attitude week and launching the first French peeling championships.
The emblem for this year’s Fraîch' Attitude week is, in response to the current financial crisis, the potato peeler. (Fittingly, the French word ‘économe’ means both ‘potato peeler’ and ‘thrifty’.)
According to the championship’s organisers, “the potato peeler is coming out of the drawer to show its effectiveness in public and to demystify a simple culinary act! Peeling fresh fruit and vegetables is easy, user-friendly and amusing for both big and small!”
11 French towns are reportedly taking up the challenge, with six teams per town fighting it out to be crowned the quickest peelers, and a peeling race against the watch deciding the eventual winners.
The victorious team will win a culinary workshop at the Fraîch’Attitude kitchen in Paris.
