Purification and preservation technology group Purfresh has been named as part of the prestigious 2011 Global Cleantech 100, a list that highlights the promise of private clean technology companies from across the globe with a focus on those likely to make a significant market impact.

Purfresh has made the list, which is produced by research firm the Cleantech Group in collaboration with the UK's Guardian News and Media, for a third time.

'We are honoured that Purfresh has been named to the prestigious Global Cleantech 100 list, as one of the most promising cleantech companies in the world, for the third consecutive year,' said David Cope, president and CEO of Purfresh. This acknowledgement validates our commitment and leadership role in the agricultural industry and dedication to provide clean, science-based solutions without the use of harmful and undesirable chemicals.'

Some 4,274 companies were nominated for the list this year from over 45 countries, with each weighted and scored to create a shortlist of 213 for the final panel to cut down to 100.

'The third Global Cleantech 100 exemplifies the best in cleantech innovation across the world,' said Richard Youngman, managing director for Europe and Asia at the Cleantech Group and the founder of the Global Cleantech 100. 'This list is based on the collective wisdom and experience of the world's cleantech leaders and this year it truly reflects nt only the most interesting companies, but also the mainstreaming of this dynamic industry.'
