Precision pollination specialist has been named to Time’s List of the Best Inventions of 2024 in the agriculture category
BeeHero has announced that its Pollination Insight Platform (PIP) has been named to Time’s list of the Best Inventions of 2024 in the Agriculture category.
The data-driven precision pollination group developed PIP to provide ”unprecedented visibility” into the pollination process, a ”critical yet traditionally opaque component of food production”.
PIP leverages patented, plug-and-play in-field sensors to collect real-time data on bee and other pollinators’ activity and environmental conditions across a variety of seed, row, and specialty crops.
This data is then analysed using proprietary AI to generate actionable insights growers can use to optimise pollination strategies and increase crop yields.
BeeHero stated that its inclusion on the Best Inventions List underscored the importance of the company’s contributions to sustainable agriculture amid rising global challenges.
“We’re honoured that Time recognises PIP’s role in making the world a better, more sustainable place to live,” said Omer Davidi, CEO and co-founder of BeeHero.
“At a time when growers face a growing demand for food and dwindling resources, effective pollination is essential to ensuring global food security.
”PIP not only maximises pollination success but also strengthens pollinator and environmental resilience, helping create a more sustainable future for generations to come,” he added.
To compile this year’s list, Time solicited nominations from its editors and correspondents around the world, and through an online application process, paying special attention to growing fields – such as health care, AI, and green energy.
Time then evaluated each contender on a number of key factors, including originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact.
