Inaugural event brings together international fresh produce safety sector in Sydney on 20-21 August
The inaugural International Fresh Produce Safety Symposium is a world-class event set to bring together the fresh produce safety community from Australia, New Zealand, the US and beyond for two days of engaging and inspiring sessions on 20-21 August 2024.
Formerly the Fresh Produce Safety Conference, this year’s event has been expanded from a single day conference to a world-class Symposium hosted over two full days at the recently refurbished Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach.
The speaker programme is headlined by Frank Yiannas, former deputy commissioner of food policy & response for the US FDA. Yiannas will be joined by international and local experts including Joelle Mosso of US-Based Western Growers; Dr SP Singh of the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries; Freshcare’s Jane Siebum; Tristan Kitchener of Harps (Harmonised Australian Retailer Produce Scheme); Tom Black from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; Food safety academic Julian Cox; Rebecca Ogg from Greengrower and Lynley Van Lathum from Rugby Farming Group, to name just a few.
The Symposium is expected to attract over 200 food safety practitioners, chief executives, food technologists, researchers, regulators, growers, ag-tech and fresh produce supply chain.
