Four-count honey mango clamshell offers convenience and value to mango shoppers
Leading US avocado producer-distributor, Mission Produce, has expanded its product offering to include a four-count honey mango clamshell, packed with fruit from Mexico.
Honey mangoes, also known as Ataúlfo mangos, are known for their fiberless flesh, creamy texture, small seed and sweet flavor profile. The new value-pack has been designed to bring convenience and value to the mango shopper.
“As we continue to drive the mango market forward, our new four-count honey mango clamshell is primed to elevate [the] produce aisle as a highly anticipated seasonal offering,” said Galen Johnson, Mission Produce senior director of sales. “Mango shoppers are looking for value-pack purchase opportunities, and our user-friendly clamshell packaging delivers both value and convenience to inspire more mango purchasing.”
According to an online survey of 1,000 shoppers cited in a Mission Produce release, more than 70 per cent of mango purchases are made on impulse. Additionally, from another survey of 200 mango buyers, 71 per cent eat mangos as snacks.
The clamshell has been designed to capture shopper attention, while the small-sized Honey mango variety positions the product as a snacking option catering to a large proportion of mango consumers.
“We’re currently receiving a plentiful, high-quality supply of honey mangos from Mexico,” said Johnson. “These golden beauties are fresh, flavourful, and as sweet as honey – perfect for snacking, blending, or topping your favourite dishes.”
