Company’s partnership with Solarity continues with the planned addition of seven more solar energy installations
Producer-exporter Unifrutti has apparently signed a deal to build seven solar plants in Chile, as it bids to reduce the environmental impact of its operations in the country and reduce its energy costs.
As reported in the Diario Financiero, the installations will take place at the company’s production centres in the Metropolitan and O’Higgins regions, and are due to start generating power from the second half of 2025.
Unifrutti already has four solar arrays in Chile – two in Maule, one in Metropolitan, and another in O’Higgins.
Unifrutti’s sustainability manager Alfredo Barriga told the newspaper: “The expansion of our alliance with Solarity and the construction of seven new solar plants is another great step forward in our sustainability project. With this initiative we confirm our commitment to the use of renewable energies like solar.”
