Foods from Spain has opened the 2012 Spanish Young Chef of the Year competition.
Entrants must use specified Spanish produce – including strawberries, raspberries, Picota cherries and persimmon – to put together a three-course meal for four covers.
Winners will receive a trip to Spain that includes several days in the kitchen of a top restaurant.
The competition is open to students and chefs already in the catering and restaurant industry aged up to 25.
It will be judged by a small panel and culminates in a cook-off in London in January next year.
