Marketing and research organisation CSO has hailed the success of last week’s European Flavors promotion, which brought together a number of Italy’s leading fresh produce industry players under one stand at last week’s World Food Moscow trade exhibition.
The European Flavors initiative, which is coordinated by CSO, was also presented with the award for best stand design by the event’s organisers.
The initiative, which is aimed at boosting exports of Italian fresh fruit and vegetables to emerging markets including Russia, is co-financed by the European Union and the Italian government, with support from the following Italian fresh produce companies: AFE Salvi, Apofruit, Alegra, Naturitalia, Mazzoni, Made in Blu, Consorzio Kiwi Gold , Granfrutta Zani, Terremerse , Orogel Fresco and OP Kiwi Sole.
“With Russian operators and retail chains paying great attention to Italian supply, the European Flavors stand has boosted public interest at World Food, the principal Russian trade fair for the food sector,” commented a spokesperson for CSO.
Visitors to the European Flavors stand were able to sample typical Italian products, including a number of exported fruits as well as Reggiano Parmesan cheese, Parma ham and Italian wines and coffees.
Accepting the stand design award, CSO director Luciano Trentini said he was delighted with the recognition his country’s fruit and vegetable sector had been given. “This unexpected award recognises the quality of Made in Italy not only when it comes to creativity and design but also for high-quality fresh produce supply,” he said.
