Tozer Iberica, the Spanish subsidiary of Tozer Seeds, has revealed that it formally took over the distribution of Tozer-bred F1 celery seed into Spain and Portugal on 1 September.
Up until now, sales of the market-leading Tozer varieties such as Monterey and Julius have been handled by French company HM Clause, which first introduced Tozer material into Spain in the 1990s.
'We thank Clause for helping us to develop this market for over 20 years, however we now feel that we can improve our support for Spanish celery production by developing much closer relationships with growers,' explainedTozer Iberica sales manager Lorena Lopez.
In addition, Tozer Iberica has invested in new storage facilities in preparation for the handover, with the group expecting a smooth transition.
