Publix has launched its new Produce for Kids 'Get Healthy, Give Hope' campaign across its Super Market stores, becoming the latest grocery retailer in the US to join the scheme to help raise money for Children's Miracle Network-affiliated hospitals.
To help raise the profile of the campaign, Teresa Scanlon, Miss America 2011, visited a Publix store on 24 May for a special cooking event, during which she was joined by children from Children's Miracle Network hospitals and members of the community, Progressive Grocer reported.
Under the programme, fresh fruit and vegetable companies will donate to local children's hospitals based on sales of their fresh produce items at participating grocery stores.
