Total Produce has added extra-sweet pineapples to its range of Top-branded products, with the company confirming the product will be available year round via weekly deliveries from Costa Rica to the Port of Rotterdam, starting this week.
Stef van der Linden, product manager at Total Produce BV, said the premium quality of the new line was “the perfect product for customers looking to offer something a little different”, particularly thanks to its new packaging design aimed at creating a more consistent look for the company’s products.
The exterior of the product’s purple carton features the exterior appearance of the pineapples within, contributing to an eye-catching visual effect when multiple boxes are stacked on a pallet and ensuring the Top brand is easily identifiable.
“The product’s exclusive and original design has made it a real eye-catcher, which is easily visible from a distance,” Van der Linden explained. “The colourful packaging enhances the tropical look and feel of the fruit.”
All of the pineapples will carry a label offering clear instructions on how to clean the fruit.
“The concept is designed mainly for customers looking for something special and who want to improve their competitive edge with high-quality products and strong product presentation,” said Van der Linden, adding that the pineapples would be available on a limited basis at first, “which means that interested buyers must act quickly, as the product will literally be available only while stocks last.”
The pack design being introduced for pineapples will also be extended to the Brazilian and Central American melons already imported and sold as part of the group’s Top range.
According to the company, only the highest-quality fruit is good enough to be sold under the Top brand and the pineapples being sourced for the range are always ready-to-eat: “consumers can enjoy this extremely tasty fruit right out of the box”, Van der Linden commented.
