Testa Produce has opened a distribution centre in Chicago that it hopes will be the first in the US to achieve platinum certification from the Green Building Council.
The 91,000ft2 facility contains a 238ft wind turbine and a water-management system it thinks will reduce its water use by 40 per cent.
