The first container of Sweeki-branded kiwifruit from Chile has landed in the port of Shenzhen in south west China.
The consignment marks the official start of Origine Group’s 2018 Asian programme, which is expected to run for several weeks.
“Sweeki kiwifruit will reach the markets of different Asian countries, where they will be sold until October, both loose and in clamshells, in small shops and supermarkets,” said general manager Alessandro Zampagna.
The Sweeki consortium brings together ten fruit and vegetable producers in Italy and Chile to market the premium kiwifruit brand.
The fruit is produced under rigorous quality standards covering sweetness, shape and firmness to guarantee a premium offer all the year round.
The consortium is made up by Afe, Apofruit, Fruit C2, Gran Frutta Zani, Kiwi Uno, Op Kiwi Sole, Pempa-Corer, Salvi-Unacoa, Spreafico and Chile’s Del Curto.
