Sun World International LLC and Santa Sweets Inc, are joining together to help retailers meet consumer demand for great tasting grape tomatoes.
Beginning in late January, Sun World will offer Santa SweetsTM grape tomatoes in clamshell packs that will be sold under a combined Santa Sweets-Sun World label.
'Santa Sweets and Sun World share a commitment to providing unique, high quality produce that exceeds consumer expectations,' Santa Sweets' chief operations officer JM Procacci and Sun World chief marketing officer David Marguleas said in a joint statement.
Santa Sweets grape tomatoes are known as the ‘authentic grape tomatoes', and are grown from the first generation (F1) seed which provides the purest variety on the market.
They have higher brix for a sweeter, more satisfying flavour, are thin-skinned, firmer and ‘squirt-free', making them ideal for snacking.
The new offering, which will be shipped from Santa Sweets' facility in Nogales, Arizona, will be available all year round, alongside other Sun World staples such as coloured peppers, citrus and South American grapes.
