Spain’s Fashion watermelon group (AGF) is staging marketing promotions during the summer months in its domestic market to encourage greater consumption of the variety among Spanish consumers.
Among other events, the Almeria-based producers’ group has carried out product tastings and watermelon sculpture demonstrations at supermarket outlets of grocery retailer AhorraMás across the country.
The AGF is also one of the sponsors of Spain’s Cookery Competition of the Year and was present at the event’s third semifinal staged in Mijas, Malaga on 1 June. The fourth semifinal will be held in Gijón on 28 September.
During the course of June and July, the Fashion brand has also been highlighted at Madrid’s Plaza de Castilla, which has been decorated with images of the watermelon variety and its logo.
