This week, Belgian importer Special Fruit commenced the sale of its first Clery strawberries of the year.
The locally sourced fruit will complement another early variety, Elsanta, which is already available from Spain and Portugal.
According to the company's marketing and communications manager, Sarah Hellemans, this season's Clerys are high in quality and large in size.
Special Fruit also announced the arrival of the first Peruvian blueberries of the season, while the first Spanish blueberries are anticipated soon.
The company has high expectations for the blueberry campaign, with sales currently on the rise, not least due to the fruit's ultra-healthy image.
