Gariguette strawberries

Brittany-based co-operative Savéol has announced that it is celebrating 300 years of the Gariguette de Plougastel strawberry this year with a new poster campaign in the Paris Metro and inmajor cities in the west of France.

The campaign will also include an online game on the company's website, according to Végétable, while a book by Chloé Batissou relating the history of the strawberry is due for publication this spring.

At the same time, a show by contemporary artists will be organised in Paris at the Françoise Livinec gallery to coincide with this event.

Around 30 Savéol growers prodcue around 2,000 tonnes of Gariguette de Plougastel strawberries a year, with the season lasting from March to June.
