SanLucar has teamed up with film producer Studio 100 for its latest movie collaboration.
From now until the end of May, Maya the Bee will appear on the company’s berry packs in Germany and Austria to coincide with the release of the studio’s new film, Maya the Bee – The Honey Games.
“Whether Paddington Bear, Shaun the Sheep, Heidi, Kung Fu Panda, Ice Age or now Maya the Bee; characters from popular animated movies are ideal ambassadors for our concern to make children enjoy the food that contains the vitamins and nutrients they need for their development and growth,” said Michael Brinkmann, CEO of the SanLucar Group.
SanLucar said the character also highlights the vital role played by bees in fruit and vegetable production and the company’s own commitment to sustainability.
“Measures such as the colouring of the ends of the transparent tunnels in which the berries are grown make it easier for bees to orientate themselves better during the flight,” it said.
“Taste in harmony with people and nature – that is the philosophy of SanLucar that guides the company’s activities.”
As part of the promotion, SanLucar is offering consumers the chance to win a trip to Andalusia and the strawberry-growing region of Huelva.
